WIEN AROUND THE CORNER

Next week, the calves will get wiened (separated) from their mothers. In preparation, today we moved the cow /calf herd close to the ranch corrals.

Wiening is always a stressful time as both the calf and the cow seem reluctant for this to occur. But within a few minutes of getting the pair separated, both will be quite content. It is another step in the long road to raising a calf to its full potential.
